Abstract

This paper presents some considerations regarding the efficiency increase for a circuit that assures the interconnection of a renewable energy source that produces electricity to the grid. The authors use as a link between the renewable source and the grid a quasi-resonant zero current switching half wave buck converter, in order to decrease the switching losses for the main switch of the circuit and to improve the overall efficiency of the system. The simulation results confirm the operation of the circuit proposed by the authors.
