Abstract

In order to make the energy resulted from renewable resources compatible with the main grid, different electromechanical converters and inverters are used. Harmonics generated by variable frequency drives based on electronic inverters can have a negative impact on the performance of the entire electrical distribution system, resulting in unpleasant and even dangerous effects. In this paper a new solution for this problem is presented, based on using a controlled planetary differential gear placed between the mechanical source of energy and the permanent magnet generator.
