Abstract
ARAM BARLEZIZYAN - ON THE TRANSLATION OF THE FRENCH
INDEFINITE - PERSONAL PRONOUN ON INTO ARMENIAN
The system of French pronouns is distinguished by a variety of forms,
among which the indefinite personal pronoun On occupies a special place. Its
applications are so diverse that a number of linguists call it "the pronominal
chameleon." This is confirmed by numerous translations into Armenian. The
given indefinite-personal pronoun, characterized by functional and stylistic
diversity, is used in different registers of the language, meanwhile there is a
special regularity of its use in French colloquial speech. Therefore, the study
of this pronoun should be carried out in two main directions: identifying
linguistic and contextual polysemy.
