Abstract
The paper addresses problems of higher engineering education transformation in conditions of large-scale digital transformation in all spheres of human activity. Centers of Excellence were created in St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” as a response to the national priorities defined in 2016. These centers are oriented towards training “digital” engineers with competences in nature-like, cognitive, human-replacing and information technologies. When implementing these training programs, the first priority is improvement of national educational standards that should be modern, flexible and adaptable to changing educational methods and techniques. Early career guidance also plays an important role in digital transformation of education. A network project “School-Technopark” was created to solve this problem. The “School-Technopark” is a modern center that provides education and is supplied with modern equipment and educational methods and is closely connected to project activities.
