Abstract
The Data Distribution Service (DDS) middleware is increasingly becoming a part of JDL (Joint Directors of Laboratories) based naval C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, & Intelligence) systems worldwide. The QoS (Quality of Service) optimization of DDS is essential for the hard real time requirements of naval C4I system and remains a challenge. The paper proposes the optimized QoS policies for the naval C4I system. It also presents the procedure to arrive at the optimized QoS policies.
