Abstract
In this paper, we propose the new multimedia service architecture with agent aided protocol, so called APMN (agent protocol for multimedia networking), which has been implemented over TCP/IP network. APMN produces more effective utilization of network resources, and ensures more multimedia services to the user than a conventional client-server architecture that is spread over the network. The empirical result of implementation shows that the media-agent informs the location of the media-server to the client, and can restrict the number of clients which are provided with multimedia services from one server by considering the status of that server.
