What A Single Template Can Do in Recognition

Abstract

This article presents a generic object detection and tracking system that requires a single template only. The system allows end-users to choose arbitrary objects to recognize, without need of extensive training. Although a single template is used, the detection and tracking are robust to different imaging conditions and intra-class variation. Finally, the system is fast and achieves real time frame rate on laptop PCs.
