Abstract
A DC-DC converter with a high voltage conversion ratio is presented in this paper. The given converter has similarities with an interleaved boost converter on the input side and resembles a Voltage Multiplier (VM) on the output part. The converter is capable of providing continuous input current that makes it more suitable for non conventional energy system. Also, the converter which has been presented in this paper can incorporate a single source or multiple sources with a small modification in the converter structure. Also, compactness is achieved as the voltage multiplier available in the converter offers comparatively low voltage ratings for the storage elements. The design aspects of the converter components are discussed in detail with supporting simulation and experimental results. A laboratory scale converter prototype has been fabricated to verify the viability of the presented converter in realistic conditions.
