{"title":"Practical intelligence and its relationship to academic integration among students of the Department of Life Sciences","authors":"","doi":"10.51424/ishq.32.1","DOIUrl":null,"url":null,"abstract":"The aim of the current research is to identify the practical intelligence among the students of the Department of Life Sciences, and to identify the academic integration among the students of the Department of Life Sciences, as well to know the correlation between the practical integration of the students of the Department of Life Sciences. The current research was determined by the students of the Department of Life Sciences, University of Al- Qadisiyah, College of Education for the academic year(2021-2022) where the descriptive correlative research method was adopted, and the size of the research sample was (219) male and female students in the Department of Life Sciences from the third and fourth stages, they were chosen randomly. The researcher has prepared two tools to achieve the research objectives, The first tool is the practical intelligence test, which, in its final form, consisted of (18) paragraphs distributed in to three areas, with (6) paragraphs for each field, and that the answer alternatives were four alternatives of the type of multiple choice, it was to make sure the virtual honesty and sincerity construction of the test and find all of the coefficient of difficulty and discrimination coefficient and the calculation of the effectiveness of the wrong alternatives to paragraphs, and finding the value of the test reliability coefficient using the (Couder- Richardson- equation-20), which amounted to (0,820). The second tool is the academic integration scale, which consists of (45) items distributed over three domains, with (15) items for each domain. the answer alternatives are only five, and the apparent validity and construction validity of the scale were verified, in addition to calculating the value of the scales stability coefficient by using Cronbachs alpha equation, which amounted to (0,961). Adanat applied the research in the first semester of the year (2021- 2022) and statistical analysis, of the data was conducted and processed, where the use of the equation (T- test) for one sample, and Pearson correlation coefficient equation regression analysis, The results of the research showed that the students of the Department of Life Sciences possess practical intelligence, and also that there were statistically significant differences according to the variable of sex (males - females), and in favor of (males), as for the academic integration variable, the results showed that there is academic integration among the students of the Department of Life Sciences, And there were statistically significant differences according to the gender variable (males - females), and in favor of the higher average, they are (males). and proposals. Abstract
