Isu Politik Identitas Dalam Pemilihan Gubernur Sumatera Utara (Studi Kasus Pilgub di Desa Sei Bamban 2018)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan keberadaan isu politik identitas dalam kaitannya dengan perilaku memilih masyarakat dan isu primordial sebagai politik identitas terhadap perilaku memilih pada pemilihan Gubernur dan Wakilnya pada Provinsi Sumatera Utara tahun 2018 di Desa Sei Bamban. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, studi literatur dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yaitu: adanya kaitan keberadaan isu politik identitas ditengah masyarakat terhadap perilaku memilih sebagian besar masyarakat. Isu yang paling menonjol di masyarakat adalah tentang teritorial yaitu putra daerah dan bukan putra daerah. Kemudian isu primordial yang dilakukan sebagian besar masyarakat didalam menentukan pilihan politiknya terlihat dari segi agama, suku, bahkan hubungan ikatan keluarga atau kekeluargaan. Artinya pemilih yang menentukan pilihannya berdasarkan teritorial, ikatan keluarga dan agama adalah pemilih mayoritas Muslim dengan pasangan nomor urut 1. Sedangkan pemilih yang menentukan pilihan berdasarkan suku, ikatan kekeluargaan, dan agama adalah pemilih mayoritas Non-Muslim dengan pasangan urut 2.  This study aims to explain the existence of the issue of identity politics in relation to people's voting behavior and primordial issues as identity politics on voting behavior in the election of the Governor and Deputy in North Sumatra Province in 2018 in Sei Bamban Village.The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, literature study and documentation.The results of the study are: there is a relationship between the existence of the issue of identity politics in the community towards the voting behavior of most people.The most prominent issue in the community is about territory, namely the sons of the region and not the sons of the region.Then the primordial issues that are carried out by most people in determining their political choices can be seen in terms of religion, ethnicity, and even family or kinship ties.This means that the voters who make their choice based on territoriality, family ties and religion are the majority Muslim voters with a pair number 1.While the voters who make choices based on ethnicity, kinship, and religion are the majority voters of Non-Muslims with pair 2.
