Abstract
Emerging technologies for instance such as Cloud Computing and Internet of Things (IoT) have revolutionized the usage of technology in crucial trades and sectors in a remarkable way we could not imagine a decade ago. Due to their decentralized nature, high reliability, efficiency, scalability, and accessibility, many organizations have adopted cloud computing and IoT to a certain degree due to the wave of digitalization. However, these technologies have several challenges on their way ahead that impact their growth in the future. The most sensitive and critical issues are related to security and privacy. The rapid growth and usage of these technologies make security and privacy concerns even more significant. Today, security and privacy concerns may represent one of the critical hazards regarding data confidentiality. There is very little evidence available to measure that the existing and emerging concerns of Cloud Computing and Internet of Things in this decade are being addressed to match the rapid growth ahead. This study aims to determine how such issues and concerns can be solved by reviewing recent challenges and trends on the IoT and cloud computing. Specifically, it reviews how these challenges have a considerable impact on data digitalization and cloud convergence. In this context, Cloud of Things (CoT) will be analyzed, including its applications and effectivity as the incorporation of the IoT and cloud computing, concerning privacy, and security and its capacity to enhance the current paradigm.
