Brightness and energy spread measurements for an I-cathode

Abstract

For possible use in a miniature scanning electron microscope, the brightness and energy spread of an impregnated cathode in triode configuration were measured. For a normalized brightness of 2.104 A/sr.m2.V we measured an energy spread of 0.8 e V.
