Performance Assessment of a Direct Torque Controlled Electric Vehicle considering Driving Cycles and Real Load Conditions

Abstract

Performance testing is a mandatory step that precedes vehicle commercialization. This security check must be performed by subjecting the electric vehicle (EV) to different real driving cycles not to only simple step speed inputs. In this work, electric vehicle performance testing using two international certified driving cycles is proposed. Direct torque control (DTC) technique with speed control loop is used to control the torque of the electric vehicle which was subjected to real load conditions including road variations.
