Abstract

One of the key technologies of the ubiquitous sensor networks is localization. Most localization techniques nowadays apply ranging techniques to compute the location of the object wireless sensor network. Although the RSSI-based ranging technology is widely used and a cost-effective solution for localization in wireless sensor networks, a wireless ad hoc network is a fading signal environment that comprises noises. The noises cause RSSI to be unstable and lead to abrupt distance estimates.
