Starting from the principle of patent infringement judgment, the technical features of the claims are decomposed, and the patent enhancement design methods of substitution, trimming, and evolution are applied, and the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving(TRIZ) tools are used to inspire the design schemes. Finally, a patent for a water temperature regulating device is applied for case verification. Abstract

Patent enhancement is a strategy for self- optimization and improvement of the enterprise’s patents to protect independent intellectual property rights and avoid exploitation of technical solutions by competitors. This paper proposes the technical method flow of patent enhancement design for industrial products.
