Abstract

Digital educational games can be considered as an important instrument to support the teaching and learning process. However, a large number of digital educational games boils down to digital activities with low entertainment and limited gameplay, making them boring games. Given this reality, this paper introduces PlayEduc, a conceptual framework based on the areas of psychology, pedagogy and design, idealized to support the development of digital educational games. The PlayEduc framework was evaluated in the process of developing digital educational games by teams composed of undergraduate students. The first results obtained are promising.
