While adopting PLC as the core of control, the proposed system consists of the ZigBee module, GPRS module, GPS module and the cloud-based monitoring configuration software. The ZigBee module is mainly responsible for wireless communication between PLC. The GPS module is designed to collect longitudinal and latitudinal data for the purpose of offering support to real-time monitoring of the location of the repaving machine assembly. The GPRS module is responsible for monitoring the repaving machine assembly remotely by uploading the data about the assembly as well as longitudinal and latitudinal data to cloud server. Abstract
