Analýza geografickej gramotnosti mladých ľudí na Slovensku v kontexte informálneho vzdelávania

Abstract

The aim of this paper is analysis of geographical literacy of young people in Slovakia. We focus on defining the term literacy in detail which is a stepping stone to understand the meaning of geographical literacy. Theoretical part of the paper is further dedicated to the informal learning, its characteristic features, and beneficial advantages. The central part of the paper discusses the analysis of geographical literacy in Slovakia. The analysis included in this paper consists of 45 test questions divided into three thematical groups and comprehensive interpretation of previously gained results. This study may be used as a cornerstone for future, detailed examination of the level of geographical literacy in Slovakia.
