Abstract
The paper presents a solution with the server components from a teleassistance / tele-monitoring system to assist elderly persons and/or post-discharged patients. The system consists of units located at the homes of the monitored persons collecting and sending medical and environmental data from sensors and a call centre with a server for recording and monitoring the data. Specialized staff will support tele-surveillance and teleassistance services. The personnel form the call-centre, the doctors, the nurses, and the patient as well, will have their own specific interfaces, based on ASP.NET solutions and/or Web Services. The telecare infrastructure and the gathered data will be used for research related to biological signal processing, data mining, decision support systems, as a step toward future generation telecare networking applications.
