Abstract
The effects of fading channels and multiple access interference limit the performance of downlink WCDMA systems. In this paper, a linear minimum mean-square error multiuser receiver with space-time transmit diversity is proposed for downlink WCDMA systems. The fading effect and multiple access interference can be jointly mitigated by the proposed scheme. The performance analysis under Gaussian approximation has also been carried out. Simulation results show that substantial performance gain can be achieved compared with conventional algorithms.
