Abstract
Simple and fast models of the working process of internal combustion engines can speed up and reduce the cost of their development. Models can also be used to load into the memory of electronic control units of internal combustion engines in order to control in an optimal way all their adjustment parameters in a wide range of operating modes. A working process model of a gas diesel (dual fuel) engine was developed. It was based on a previously developed one-zone working process model of a diesel engine The assessment of the main differences in the algorithms for calculating the compression-combustion-expansion processes in diesel and gas diesel engines and their influence on the performance of two engines was carried out. To calibrate the model, calculations using the AVL FIRE multi-zone model and the results of experimental tests of a gas diesel engine were used. A high convergence of calculated and experimental results was demonstrated.
