Guidelines for Design of Helical Antennas

Abstract

This paper summarizes guidelines for the design of nonuniform helical antennas and presents guidelines for the design of uniform helical antennas with the main aim of formulating a unified and comprehensive procedure for the design of helical antennas. The defined procedure provides analytical equations for a fast and reliable design. Further, it also contains an analytical equation that recommends which type of helical antenna is the preferable choice for the available or desired material or specific antenna dimensions.
