Abstract
The simulation models of the high voltage direct current (HVDC) and its controller are built in detail by Power System Block (PSB) in Matlab / Simulink. Additionally, the fundamental principle and schematic structure of HVDC power transmission are discussed briefly. With this model, the system responses to steady state, the step of current reference and DC transmission line to ground fault are studied. Simulation results demonstrate the legitimacy and adequacy of the proposed HVDC transmission model. Besides, the simulation can get moderately high exactness, precision and takes less time.
