Abstract
In recent years, resource waste caused by residents’ illegal demolition becomes more serious. Taking Weinan City in Shaanxi Province, China as an example, this paper uses several social statistical analysis methods to extract the preferences of residents’ space satisfaction; and the suitability of the local residents’ satisfaction with the living space is studied. Using the rhino software and the grasshopper platform to combine quantitative design and genetic algorithm, this paper proposes an interactive design platform to improve residents’ participation in the design stage and reduce residents’ self-demolition and self-construction behavior. This will help improve residents' well-being and reduce pollution and carbon emissions from building consumables. Results show that the platform works well in participatory design by local residents.
