Abstract

In this paper, a new 3-D hybrid finite-difference time-domain (FDTD)/wave equation finite element time-domain (WE-FETD) method is proposed. Different from previous methods using first order Maxwell's curl equations, the FETD region in this method is wave-equation-based. The method forms a new hybrid FDTD/SETD/FETD framework. At the interface of different region, it employs the Discontinuous Galerkin method to couple the neighboring regions.
