Creating a World that Is Safe for Children

Abstract

Focusing on child sexual abuse and incest, the author imagines a future time where a safe world has been created and identifies some concepts and actions to help get there, including: (1) changes in language and concepts of abuser and abused. (2) understanding shame and (3) accepting the need to work with the complexity of sexual abuse and incest. The article ends with a list of things people can do to participate in creating a world that is safe for children.
