Abstract

In general, humanitarians come to the aid of the most vulnerable to restore human dignity and alleviate the suffering of families in precarious situations. However, today it is experiencing a major economic and organizational crisis. The initial direct aid has been prioritized and standardized over time with a view to efficiency, making it counterproductive and exposing it to numerous criticisms. The question that arises is to what extent humanitarian aid contributes to the resilience of beneficiaries towards sustainable development. Indeed, based on the hypothesis that the intervention of humanitarians in the resolution of socio-economic problems of the vulnerable contributes to their resilience towards sustainable development, this study assesses the contribution of humanitarian aid not only in the resilience of vulnerable populations, but especially in the sustainability of their development.
