The article is devoted to the study of the theoretical foundations of the digitization of the personnel management system, the identification of the main problems of the digitization process in Ukraine, the analysis and justification of the need to introduce digital technologies into the personnel management system at domestic enterprises. Method. During the writing of the article, methods of analysis and synthesis, grouping methods, statistical methods, graphic, balance method, and comparison methods were used. The results. The increase in staff turnover at domestic enterprises is caused by a number of different reasons, so innovations in personnel management were identified that could correlate with the transformation in the country's economy, namely digitalization and the transition to the fourth industrial revolution, as well as act within the framework of a humanistic approach to personnel management in order to preserve active personnel, and, as a result, ensuring the proper functioning of domestic enterprises, which has a significant impact on the economic development of the country. Scientific novelty. For the first time, evolutionary transformations of industrial production (from Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0) were connected with transformations of approaches to personnel management, as a result of which it was found that the main requirements for personnel management within the framework of the fourth industrial revolution correlate with a humanistic approach, which is and inherent in personnel management in the 21st century. Practical significance.
