Abstract

Switching power supplies are widely used today. Since this power supply does not generate loss in principle, it is advantageous from the viewpoint of energy saving, but it generates switching noise. Since this noise may adversely affect other electronic devices, countermeasures are required. In order to suppress this problem, this paper describes a dc-dc converter that uses a new switch control method instead of PWM scheme. The switching noise characteristics generated by this converter is investigated, and an effective method for suppressing the noise is described. The converter mentioned here also has the advantage that it can be implemented with a simple configuration.
