HVDC system requires fast and accurate fault detection. Recently, various time- and frequency-domain algorithms are proposed. In this paper, Stockwell (S-) transform is utilized for real-time fault detection. Different type of faults in HVDC transmission line are simulated using PSCAD. The generated fault signals are analyzed using MATLAB. S-transform can detect the transient signal effectively in time-frequency domain.
