Abstract
With the development of technology, the architecture of the power system is changing on a daily basis in order to save energy and protect the environment. However, the development in power system architecture has had an impact on power quality and has given birth to certain new power quality problems. Newly accepted methods for production, transmission, and distribution are, in general, the source of these new power quality problems. The study of these power quality problems is necessary for anticipating the stochastic impacts on contemporary power system functioning and determining the best remedy. This article discusses power quality problems that have arisen as a consequence of power system infrastructure modernization, as well as a review of state-of-the-art solutions in the literature to address such difficulties. The breadth of future research needed to address these new power quality issues is also suggested in this paper.
