Abstract

This paper presents a structural health monitoring system for bridges. The system measures the vibration in a bridge using accelerometer. Arduino UNO reads the frequency of the vibration and sends it to a receiver via a Bluetooth module. At the receiver end, required calculations are done in MATLAB to identify the location of the damage and to determine its severity. This knowledge of damage can help in determining when and where the bridge needs to be repaired.
