Abstract

5G NR MBS (5G New Radio Multicast and Broadcast Services) is a technology based on 5G mobile telecommunication network, which can provide new type of interactive video broadcasting services such as multi-angle view service to various kinds of intelligent mobile terminals by using the integrated unicast, multicast, and broadcast modes from both mobile base stations and TV Towers. In November 2021, the verification of new broadcasting services including multi-angle viewing and panoramic VR video live broadcasting in the Beijing Winter Olympics test events was carried based on 5G NR MBS.
