Abstract

The simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) with integrated receivers has been spotlighted with the benefit of continuous information transfer without degrading of power transfer performance, while the SWIPT with separated receivers has an information-energy trade-off. We propose a pulse energy modulation (PEM) based precoding scheme for SWIPT, motivated from Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP). The goal of the proposed scheme is reducing the transmission power. We utilize selection diversity from combining PEM and THP to achieve the goal. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme effectively reduces transmission power and outperforms the conventional SWIPT.
