Abstract
In this paper we present a performance evaluation of LTE Licensed Assisted Access (LAA) with partial subframe introduced in 3GPP Release 13. By implementing LTE-LAA module with partial subframe using event-driven system level simulator (SLS) we show how much performance gain can be achieved. Moreover, by modifying the multi-model spectrum channel design we add possibility to perform inter-technology simulations with IEEE 802.11 based WLAN to investigate the performance improvements achieved by the introduction of partial subframe in co-existence scenarios. Performance evaluations show that using partial subframe can increase the performance of UPT minimum by 11% and by 26% on average.
