Microelectronics education as workforce development

Abstract

This paper describes the microelectronic design educationinitiatives sponsored by the Pittsburgh Digital Greenhouse.These programs were created to support a growing regionalcluster of microelectronic system design companies. Bothresident instruction and continuing education initiatives aredescribed, and progress to date is highlighted.
