Analysis of the innovation activity of enterprises in the Republic of Moldova

Abstract

Being a country with a small and open economy, the development potential of the Republic of Moldova largely depends on foreign trade, as a strategic point in the relaunch of the national economy This article aims to analyze and evaluate the innovation activity of enterprises in the Republic of Moldova. In this context, the data of the National Bureau of Statistics regarding the innovation activity were used, which served as a fundamental basis to assess the efficiency of the activity of the innovative enterprises. The analysis carried out highlighted the level of innovation of economic entities and implicitly of small and medium enterprises. Also, the actual research highlighted a series of problems faced by innovative companies, but also some reference points for different decision-makers at different decision levels, to solve these problems. The results of the study can be used in the development of different policies and strategies regarding the support and development of domestic enterprises in the innovation process.
