To damp out deviation occurred in area frequencies and tie line powers Fuzzy becomes enabling technology and emerging to large integrated power systems. The proposed control strategy with Fuzzy Controller assures the improved transient performance and faster settling time of automatic generation control after the sudden load perturbation. Abstract

Load Frequency Control (LFC) is employed in a system to maintain the scheduled system frequency and tie line power of an interconnected area within the prescribed limits. In this paper load frequency and tie line power of three area interconnected power system is controlled first by conventional PID controller then to quench the variation occurred in system frequency and tie line power the Fuzzy load frequency controller is incorporated.
