Abstract

ICE(Intercultural Collaboration Environment) is a joint research project which is dedicated to overcoming language barriers and cultural differences, serious communication problems. But the translation tools at present are poor and the users can't understand each other very well. In order to improve mutual comprehension between users, we propose the ontology-based ICE integrating ontology, agents and data mining to supplement the present tool AnnoChat. Moreover, for the purpose of adapting to the dynamic environment, we propose a user-oriented ontology evolution model integrated within the ontology-based ICE system. It can complete ontology evolution task effectively as well as enhance the comprehension between users, in other words, support ICE.
