Democratizing Heavy-Lift Multi-Rotors Design

Abstract

The demand for multi-rotors is increasing rapidly, with multi-rotors used for inspection, photography, search and rescue, data-gathering, law enforcement, and much more. This paper aims to demystify the challenges in drone design for the growing community of drone users. It details the process of designing a multi-rotor and proposes a convenient tool made publicly available1 to efficiently find the optimal multi-rotor configuration given specific design criteria.
