Abstract

The article deals with diesel-engine synchronous generator with phase-compounding excitation system. This excitation system of generator improves the voltage control quality under sharp load variations and can be used without automatic voltage regulator (AVR). In the current work, operation of diesel generator with phase-compounding excitation system and without AVR on active-reactive load is considered. The currents’ distribution in the excitation system of the diesel generator with phase-compounding excitation system is described analytically. An influence of parameters of the phase-compounding excitation system on static error of the stator voltage of synchronous generator is analyzed.
