Reputation based technique to distinguish posts in Facebook social network

Abstract

Social Networks are most powerful and easy to use medium for the communication. Social Networks provide a platform for the users where they can make new friends and can share their ideas or moments with others. Facebook is one of the most popular and widely used Social Networks. In Facebook users can easily and freely create their accounts. Facebook provides easy and effective communication among the users. There users can create pages, groups or events for making communication better and more effective. Sometimes, users can make unnecessary content on pages and groups. These contents should be identified for making the communication better and useful. In this paper reputation based technique is proposed which can distinguish legitimate posts and the malicious posts in Facebook Social Networks. To collect the dataset for the implementation of proposed technique Netvizz application is used. Netvizz application is easily available on Facebook and helps to collect the information of the user's data. To visualize the dataset Gephi tool is used. For the implementation of the proposed technique Netbeans IDE is used and then distinguishes the legitimate and malicious posts from the dataset.
