Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Two Group Pretest-postest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA Semester I SMA Negeri 9 Medan yang terdiri dari empat kelas . Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas XIMIA-2sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIA-1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang asing-masing berjumlah 34 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes keterampilan proses sains dalam bentuk essay dengan jumlah 8 soal yang telah dinyatakan valid dan lembar observasi keterampilan proses sains siswa. Untuk menguji hipotesis digunakan uji beda (uji t). Hasil analisis data didapatkan, nilai rata-rata pretes kelas eksperimen 29,96 dengan standar deviasi 10,55 kelas kontrol 32,26 dengan standar deviasi 9,90. Hasil uji t dua pihak (sebelum diberikan perlakuan) diperoleh thitung < ttabel = 1,85 < 1,99 maka Ho diterima, yang berarti kedua kelas memiliki kemampuan awal yang sama. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata postes kelas eksperimen 75,55 dengan standar deviasi 9,18 dan kelas kontrol 67,55 dengan standar deviasi 11,06. Hasil uji t satu pihak (setelah diberikan perlakuan yang berbeda), diperoleh thitung > ttabel = 3,25 > 1,66 sehingga Ho ditolak. Maka ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Inquiry Training terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi pokok Elastisitas dan Hukum Hooke di SMA Negeri 9 Medan T.P 2019/2020.Kata Kunci : inquiry training, Keterampilan Proses Sains ABSTRACTThis research purposed to see the impact of inquiry Training using on students science process skills on the subject matter of Elasticity and Hooke's Law at SMA Negeri 9 Medan.. The instrument used was a science process skills test in the form of essays with a total of 8 questions that have been declared valid and an observation sheet for students' science process skills. To test the hypothesis used a different test (t test). The results of data analysis obtained, the average value of pretest experimental class 29.96 with a standard deviation of 10.55 and a control class 32.26 with a standard deviation of 9.90. T-test results of two parties (before given treatment) obtained tcount < ttable = 1.85 <1.99, Ho is accepted, which means both classes have the same initial ability. While the average posttest score of the experimental class was 75.55 with a standard deviation of 9.18 and a control class of 67.55 with a standard deviation of 11.06. T-test results for one party (after given different treatment), obtained tcount > ttable = 3.25 > 1.66 so that Ho is rejected.
