Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate, compare and analyse Moodle and traditional reading comprehension testing methods in Malaysian classrooms for French language. As our country is gearing up to enter an era of information technology, the possibility and the implementation of Moodle in the Malaysian educational arena is imminent. The findings of this research indicate that students generally can perform better in Moodle with reading comprehension tests compared to the traditional method. Although the margins and differences detected were minimal, being of advantage to the computerassisted version, it brings to light the potential that is inherent among our Malaysian students towards computerized testing. The study has also shed some light and proved wrong, the common belief that males are better than females computer related activities. In the course of the study, the interview and questionnaire reports clearly indicated that teachers and students especially, hold a positive outlook towards Moodle in Malaysia. It is of the researcher's belief that more studies by local researchers in this field would add strength to the findings encountered. It is hoped that this study would provide new horizons for future research in the field of Moodle for foreign language. It is evident though from the research findings that Moodle, and especially testing, will be received well by the student and teacher community in Malaysia.
