The Influence of Electromobility on the Czech Automotive Industry

Abstract

Manufacturers of cars and their parts will counter the effects of electromobility, autonomous driving, connectivity and digitization in the years to come. These are so far unrecognized risks threatening their activities; for example from the point of view of sales, up to 30% of car parts manufacturers will be at risk in the Czech Republic. It seems that the new trends will significantly impair the standard models of the current vertical structure of the automotive production and the supply chain. Car makers will also have the chance to develop and expand new technologies, business activities and leadership within the new trends.
