Abstract
This paper presents a dual-band 2×2 MIMO antenna for WLAN applications. The design consists of four Planar Inverted-F Antennas with shorting pin. The 2×2 MIMO system has four ports and each antenna is a transceiver. The antennas are fed through a coaxial feed with an input impedance of 50 ohms. Decouplers are kept between the antennas to increase isolation and reduce mutual coupling. Each antenna can operate at 2.4 GHz and 7.54 GHz. At 2.4 GHz, the reflection coefficients S11, S22, S33, S44 are -13.0761 dB, -13.4858 dB, -12.9771 dB and -12.8324 dB respectively. At 7.54 GHz the reflection coefficients S11, S22, S33, S44 are -8.33 dB, -8.02 dB, -7.95 dB and -8.099 dB respectively. The isolation coefficients are S12, S21, S34 and S43. At 2.4 GHz, S12 and S21 are -16.65 dB, S34 and S43 are -17.02 dB. At 7.54 GHz, S12 and S21 are -34.51 dB, S34 and S43 are -35.53 dB. Also, by decreasing the width of the patch of PIFA, the resonant frequencies increase.
