Abstract

Salmonella strains have been actively studied as live carriers of heterologous antigens for a possible vaccine application. Especially, Salmonella Typhimurium , a facultative anaer-obe, has been adapted as an antitumor agent capable of preferentially proliferating within tumors and inhibiting their growth.
