Acne Assessment and Grading: Challenges and Opportunity

Abstract

One of the major skin diseases that most teenagers are facing nowadays is acne. Acne prevailing among teenagers is approximately 80–90 percent. Assessment and grading of such skin diseases are very important to cure diseases in the initial stage. In the literature, numerous acne assessment methods and grading are discussed with their merit demerit. However, there will be no universal assessment and grading system has been adopted so far due to different grading scales or assessments. In this paper, the authors deal with all the challenges and opportunities in all existing traditional as well as state-of-art assessment and grading methods. Further a single tabular form of all comparable grading and assessment methods is also presented, which leads to comparing all these methods straightforwardly.
