Abstract

This paper enlightens the implementation of photovoltaic (PV) fed hybrid cascaded modular multilevel (HCMMLI) inverter. The presented topology results in reduction of switching devices compared with conventional multilevel inverter topology (MLI). For dc source, PV system is considered among renewable energy resources. Appropriate maximum power point technique (MPPT) has been implemented to extract maximum power from PV array. The comparative analysis has been carried out with conventional MLI topology based on the device count. The system is simulated using MatLab and the results are presented.
