Abstract

The development of blockchain technology has brought great challenges to the field of legal sciences, especially regarding the need to regulate its use. In the search to fulfill the general objective outlined, based on a documentary research, of an exploratory and analytical-descriptive nature, adopting the deductive method, the article presents brief notes on the functioning of blockchain technology, then discusses about its relationship with Foucault’s governmentality and its regulation as safety devices. In the end, it is argued that the regulation of the use of blockchain in cryptocurrencies may be the appropriate way for the full compliance with the constitutional precepts related to the economic order.
